Edwin L. Dooley, Jr. Collection
Scope and Contents
This collection contains thirty-four digital files given to Washington and Lee University by Edwin L. Dooley, Jr. Thirty-two contain 2-D renderings of Lexington's Main Street in 1867, which he created for the 2013 Rockbridge Historical Society exhibit. Some of these files contain the renderings themselves while others are photographs of the exhibit panels, which are composed of a rendering accompanied by a historic or modern photograph of the same geographic location and some informational text. The other two digital files are the Town of Lexington census files from 1860 and 1870, which he transcribed, corrected, and annotated.
