This collection contains a manuscript copy of a list of persons between the ages of 18-45 in Rockbridge County, Va. who were likely to be enrolled in the militia by the laws of the United States. The Rockbridge County militia was the 144th Regiment which was led by Jonathan McKenney and Jonathan M. Templeton. The individuals are listed by Company. The manuscript is dated 1857.
