James River and Kanawha Company Papers - John Jordan
Scope and Contents
This file consists of a contract for locks between the James River and Kanawha Company and James Jordan, dated November 26th, 1835. The contract also includes specification for locks, articles of agreement, and a signature by James Cabell. The file additionally includes a letter to John Jordan from W.P. Munford noting that a lock contract has been voided (dated October 3rd, 1830). Finally, the file contains a page of handwritten notes on financing for the lock, as well as participant investors.
