Ernest Altgelt of San Antonio, Texas, September 1, 1874, $250 - On the reverse of this certificate is a handwritten note by Altgelt authorizing his son, George Conrad Altgelt of Lexington, Virginia to sell, convey, and dispose of his right, title, and interest in the scholarship among other thins. This is dated January 24, 1876 and signed by Altgelt. George added a note on May 8, 1876 about the scholarship.
Judge L. V. Dixon of Memphis, Tennessee, September 1, 1874, $250. There are two certificates issued to Dixon on the same day for the same amount.
