Scope and Contents This collection includes items related to William Graham, an early rector of Washington and Lee University, then named Liberty Hall Academy. Included are two drafts of Graham's epitaph. The drafts do not match the epitaph that appears on Graham's current grave on the campus of Washington and Lee University. It could have been for his original grave in Richmond, Va., but no evidence has been found to prove that. There is a note dated April 10, 1782 to Colonel Bowyer from Graham stating he...
