Tom Wolfe Letter
In this short letter to Maurice D. Leach (Washington and Lee University librarian, 1968-1985) Wolfe discusses a talk he gave at Washington and Lee University.
Edmondson Family Papers
This collection contains letters and receipts of Colonel James Kerr Edmondson, a Lexington, Virginia lawyer, judge and mayor, and of his wife, Emily Jane Taylor Edmondson. Also included are Edmondson's letters to his wife during the Civil War, while he was an officer in the Stonewall Brigade. Their are some items from their relations, the Monroes and Penicks of Lexington.
J. Henry Smith Speeches
This collection consists of Washington College student J. Henry Smith's addresses to the college's "John Marshall Society" on Sept. 24, 1841; "Total Abstinence Society" on Sept. 23, 1842; a speech on "Patriotism" in celebration of George Washington's birthday as a representative of the "Rockbridge Union Volunteers" in 1842; and a speech on "Moral Education" given on Commencement Day, 1842.

Army 4th Infantry Division, especially regarding its duty in Vietnam, with 31 issues of The Ivy Leaf, from Camp Enari, Vietnam (1967-1968), and several issues of Ivy Leaves, the publication of the National 4th Infantry (Ivy) Division Association.

Henry Courtenay Selden Correspondence
Letters written at Washington College by Selden to his sister, Mary Byrd ('Mollie') Selden describing college life. One letter refers to the death of Gen. Stonewall Jackson and the ceremonies attendant to his burial. Others include a letter from Alexander L. Nelson, Professor of Mathematics at the College, commending Selden; a letter after Selden left Washington College and joined the 3rd Virginia Cavalry.
David Embry Collection
The letters in this collection were written by Dean Robert Henry Tucker to Mrs. David Embry who was inquiring about her husband's degree from Washington and Lee University. David Embry received his diploma, dated July 28, 1944, and graduated with honors. At the time of the letters he was serving in the Navy.
